National QMED-Oiler Online (BEMART-387)
Any applicant who successfully completes Beacon Maritime Training’s QMED-Oiler (BEMART-387) course within one year of submitting a complete application to the U.S. Coast Guard will satisfy:
- The examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.501(c)(5) for a national rating endorsement as QMED-Oiler.
- A course certificate may be used for one application resulting in issuance of the endorsement and may not be used for subsequent application transactions.

Course & Equipment Requirements
A smartphone, tablet, or computer is needed to work through normal coursework.
The following are the minimum computer requirements for final proctored examinations:
- Desktop or laptop computer (Mac, Windows-based PC, or compatible Chromebook).
- Windows PCs require a minimum of Windows 7.
- Macs require a minimum of macOS 10.10.
